The SilenceLoneliness

I can be deeply needed and still feel emotionally homeless

Dear Delyara, Children need me. Work needs me. The house needs me. Family needs me. I matter in visible ways all day long. And still, some nights I feel like there is nowhere my inner life properly lands. That’s what I mean by emotionally homeless. Not unloved. Not abandoned. Just carrying the softer, less useful parts of myself through a full life without a clear place to put them down and have them held there without explanation. That kind of loneliness is hard to admit because the outside evidence contradicts it. But the body knows. Mine does.
