The SilenceLoneliness
I can be needed all day and still feel emotionally homeless
Dear Delyara, Children need me. The house needs me. Work needs me. Life proves in visible ways that I matter practically. And still, there are days when I feel like there is nowhere my own emotional life fully lands. That is what I mean by emotional homelessness. Not being unloved. Not being abandoned. Just not having a place where my softer, less useful self gets held without first becoming someone else’s task, concern, or problem. I think many women live there quietly. Useful and lonely. Central and unseen. Busy and somehow still inwardly unplaced. That’s me more often than I say.
