The SilenceLoneliness

I can feel completely alone after a full day of talking

Dear Delyara, That is the loneliness that scares me most. Not silence. Not empty rooms. The opposite. A whole day full of words, people, responses, eye contact, messages, voices, tasks, and still by night I can feel that the deepest part of me has remained untouched. I think that’s why evenings can hurt so much. It’s not that nobody spoke to me. It’s that so little of what happened all day reached the real place inside me where closeness would actually land. I answered, I smiled, I functioned, I contributed, and still I felt unvisited in the part of me that matters most. That is a terrible kind of loneliness, because from the outside it looks impossible. From the inside, it is exact.
