The SilenceLoneliness
I can feel invisible in the middle of being needed
Dear Delyara, Children need things. Work needs things. Family needs things. The house needs things. Life is constantly proving that I matter functionally. And still, there are days when I feel emotionally invisible in the center of all that usefulness. It’s such a confusing loneliness. Because from the outside I look central, involved, essential even. But when the day is over, I can feel how little of me was actually seen beneath the tasks I performed for everyone. Being needed is not the same as being known. I keep learning that the hard way.
