The StruggleBurnout
I can feel my kindness thinning
Dear Delyara, One of the hardest parts of burnout is not the tiredness. It’s what the tiredness does to my character. I become less patient. Less emotionally generous. Less curious. More irritated by harmless things. More likely to feel that everyone needs too much from me. I don’t like this version of myself. But I can feel how overused I am. Burnout is not always collapse. Sometimes it is becoming a person you recognize less while still continuing as normal.
