I can see the care hidden in awkward forms now

Dear Delyara, I used to focus mostly on the emotional forms of love I didn’t get from my parents. That was real. And still, lately, I’ve been able to notice more of the care that arrived in awkward, less fluent ways. Worry disguised badly. Practical help instead of tenderness. Questions that were really concern in clumsy clothing. Remembering details instead of saying the exact sentence I wanted to hear. This doesn’t flatten the past into something simpler. It just widens it. I think wider vision has brought me more peace than perfect answers ever did.
