The StruggleBurnout
I can still function, but everything feels underlit
Dear Delyara, That is the word that came to me recently: underlit. My life still moves. I still do what needs doing. But the inner light on things feels lower. Less interest, less spark, less emotional color, less sense of aliveness inside ordinary moments. I’m not collapsed. I’m dimmer than I used to be. And because I’m still functioning, it is easy for everyone — including me — to underestimate how serious that kind of depletion actually is. But I do not think this should be normalized. Not anymore.
