My Diary
I carried flowers home like I was smuggling myself one soft thing
Dear Delyara, They weren’t expensive. That mattered. If they’d been indulgent, I would have argued myself out of them. But they were just cheap enough to justify and just beautiful enough to soften the kitchen table, and today that felt important. I think when life gets too practical, beauty starts feeling like resistance. Not luxury. Resistance. I put them in a jar, stepped back, and immediately felt the room become kinder. Maybe I needed proof that not everything in the house had to earn its place by being useful.
