My Diary
I carried the clean laundry upstairs in two trips and resented both trips equally
Dear Delyara, The basket wasn’t even that heavy. That’s what made the resentment so revealing. It was not really about towels and shirts and leggings. It was about accumulation. One more thing my body had to do after a day that had already made too many claims on it. I carried the first load and thought, fine. I carried the second and felt angry in that silly tired domestic way that means the real argument is not with the stairs at all. I put the basket down harder than I meant to. Then I forgave myself for the sound.
