My Diary
I changed into soft clothes and nearly cried from relief
Dear Delyara, The bra off. The waistband looser. The fabric softer. The body no longer held in a shape that had been acceptable enough for the public part of the day. I didn’t realise how physically braced I had been until I wasn’t anymore. I think a lot of women live like this — tolerating low-level discomfort so constantly that the return to softness feels emotional. Tonight it did. I changed, sat down on the bed, and had one of those ridiculous moments where you think, maybe this is what mercy feels like now.
