My Diary
I changed my pillowcase because it felt like the most achievable form of hope
Dear Delyara, The whole room was too much. Not messy enough to justify a full clean, not calm enough to soothe me. So I did one thing: took off the old pillowcase and put on a clean one. That tiny act changed the emotional meaning of the bed immediately. I think some days hope has to arrive in forms small enough not to threaten the nervous system. Not “sort your life out.” Not “start fresh.” Just this: your face will meet clean cotton tonight. That was enough to make me feel a little less abandoned by the day.
