The AwakeningSelf Love
I chose the kinder route before the harsher one could call itself discipline
Dear Delyara, This week I caught something important in time. That old impulse to prove myself through unnecessary hardness — to take the longer route, the stricter route, the more punishing version of effort because some part of me still associates self-respect with endurance. I felt it rising, and instead of automatically obeying it, I asked a different question: What would kindness do here? The answer was not dramatic. It was just softer. Simpler meal. Earlier rest. Less forcing. More honesty about capacity. And I took that answer seriously. That feels like self-love in a form I trust — not decorative, not sentimental, but practical enough to change the shape of a real day. I’m grateful for that shift.
