I Corrected My Name
Dear Delyara, Again. And this time, I did not laugh it off or shrink into politeness just because the room expected it to be easier if I accepted the wrong version quietly. I corrected it. Clearly. Once. Without apology. That mattered. Because self-esteem is often built in very ordinary moments where a person stops helping the world mis-handle them. That is what this felt like. Not a grand statement. Not confidence fireworks. Just one calm refusal to disappear for convenience. And I felt stronger afterward than the moment had any right to make me feel. That’s how I know it was important.
