I could feel the care without demanding the form be perfect

Dear Delyara, That feels like grace in me. The care came awkwardly, indirectly, imperfectly — all the ways it often has. But I could feel it anyway. I didn’t need the exact right tone or the exact emotional vocabulary in order to recognize that something real and loving was trying to reach me underneath the clumsy surface. That doesn’t erase the old grief. It just means there is now more room around it. I think that room is a kind of maturity. And I’m grateful for it.
