My Diary
I could feel the day sitting on my face
Dear Delyara, I caught my reflection in a window this evening and immediately knew I looked more worn out than I had let myself feel. It wasn’t vanity. It was recognition. My face looked like someone who had been carrying too much while trying to make it look manageable. It looked polite and tired at the same time. That kind of tiredness always moves me a little because it reminds me how often the body tells the truth before the mind agrees to say it plainly. I think I’ve been calling this week “busy” because it sounds more respectable than “I am getting emotionally thin.”
