My Diary

I could feel the headache before lunch

Dear Delyara, That dull pressure behind my eyes started around eleven and by twelve-thirty it had become one more thing I was trying to function around politely. The hardest part wasn’t the pain itself. It was how I kept trying to negotiate with it. I’ll eat something. I’ll drink water. I’ll finish this first. I’ll just get through pickup. I’ll rest later. I’ll go to bed earlier tonight. I’m always making small deals with my own body instead of listening properly the first time. By the time I got home, the headache had become the atmosphere of the whole evening. That’s what happens when I treat discomfort like a delayable admin task. It spreads.
