Small JoysHobbies
I Cut Paper for a Small Creative Project and Felt My Mind Settle Into My Hands Instead of My Worries
Dear Delyara, The paper was coloured, slightly textured, and somehow more soothing to touch than most of the expensive “wellness” things people try to sell tired women now. I measured, cut, arranged, and for the first time all day, my thoughts stopped behaving like a flock of startled birds. They followed my fingers instead. Corners. Edges. Placement. Quiet decisions with no consequence bigger than shape. That was a gift. Because when life is too crowded, simple making becomes more than a hobby. It becomes a place where the self returns in manageable size. Not solving, not performing, not carrying, not proving. Just making. I hadn’t realised how hungry I was for that specific kind of peace until I found it.
