I deleted the draft instead of sending the message that would only reopen everything
Dear Delyara, It was to my ex. And I knew better. I had written it after midnight in that emotional state where loneliness and unfinished business start pretending they are wisdom. It wasn’t even a dramatic message. Just one of those “I was thinking about…” messages that sound harmless and carry an entire emotional trapdoor inside them. In the morning I read it again, felt the old pull, and then deleted it. That was the victory. Not because I have stopped caring completely. Because I finally cared enough about my own peace not to feed the old cycle one more time.
