Dear Delyara, I reached something I thought I had probably missed my chance for. That mattered more than the goal itself. There are certain dreams that become heavier with age because they start carrying shame with them. You don’t just want them — you also feel embarrassed for still wanting them, or afraid it’s too late, or worried that if you try now and fail, it will confirm every private fear you’ve had about yourself. I did it anyway. That changed something deeper than the result.
