I did not want advice tonight

Dear Delyara, I wanted company, not solutions. There is a difference, and I think people miss it all the time. Tonight I don’t need anyone to help me “reframe” anything. I don’t need perspective or self-care tips or five ways to reduce stress. I don’t need to be reminded that things could be worse. I need someone to sit close to the truth and not try to improve it too quickly. Sometimes what hurts most is not pain itself. It’s how quickly other people try to make pain more convenient to hear.
