I didn’t use shopping as a reward for a bad day
Dear Delyara, Nothing extravagant. Just little things, little comforts, little “I deserve this” moments that aren’t really about the item at all. They’re about wanting some interruption, some softness, some quick permission to feel better when the day has been too sharp. This week I noticed the urge, named it properly, and didn’t follow it automatically. Instead I came home, changed into softer clothes, made tea, and let the bad day end without turning it into a purchase. That felt steadier. And more respectful toward myself than the old loop does. Not flashy progress. Real progress.
