I Didn’t Want Advice

Dear Delyara, I called someone tonight because I felt lonely, and halfway through the conversation I realised I didn’t actually want advice. I wanted company. I wanted softness. I wanted someone to let my feelings exist without trying to solve them into something easier to hear. I know people mean well. I know fixing is often their version of care. But some nights I don’t need solutions. I just need not to feel so emotionally alone inside my own life.
