My Diary
I didn’t want advice. I wanted agreement.
Dear Delyara, I think people often miss. When I bring something difficult, I’m not always asking for strategy. Sometimes I want someone to stand next to the truth of the feeling for one minute before they start improving it. Yes, that sounds hard. Yes, that would wear you out. Yes, I can see why that touched a nerve. That kind of agreement gives me more relief than most solutions do. Because it means I don’t have to defend the reality of my own experience before I’m allowed to have it.
