My Diary
I didn’t want to answer “how was your day?” honestly
Dear Delyara, Not because the truth was too dark. Because it was too layered. How was my day? Crowded. A little dull. Slightly bruising in the tiny ways that don’t sound important enough once spoken aloud. Full of tone. Full of access. Full of the feeling that I was one emotional degree more delicate than the environment allowed. None of that fits neatly into the conversation slot usually offered by that question. So I gave the smaller version. Fine. Busy. A bit tiring. Maybe those weren’t lies. But they weren’t the day either.
