My Diary
I didn’t want to be spoken to for an hour
Dear Delyara, When I got home today, I didn’t want to be touched by language. Not rudely. Not forever. I just needed one hour where no one asked me anything, no one updated me on anything, no one needed an opinion, a reply, a reaction, a decision, a plan. I think words can feel like pressure when your nervous system is full. So I stayed quiet. I put my phone on silent. I heated food I didn’t really want. I stood in the kitchen and let the room be plain. It was probably the healthiest thing I did all day.
