The StruggleBurnout

I Don’t Feel Curious About My Own Life Anymore

Dear Delyara, That’s the symptom that scares me most. Not the tiredness. Not even the flatness. The lack of curiosity. I used to wonder about things, reach for things, follow little sparks of interest, get excited about plans, books, ideas, travel, clothes, beauty, even my own thoughts. Now most days I move through life like a person crossing items off a list in a building that needs to stay standing. I still care. That’s what makes this frightening. The caring is there. The curiosity feels starved. Burnout is not just being tired. It’s becoming boring to yourself. That’s the grief I am trying to look at honestly.
