I Don’t Feel Safe in My Body

Dear Delyara, Some days are fine. Then one symptom, one ache, one wave of unusual tiredness, one strange feeling, and I can feel the old health fear move back into the room with all its luggage. Suddenly my body is not home. It is possibility. Risk. Interpretation. Question. That level of alertness is exhausting. Especially because most of it happens invisibly while the outside of life keeps demanding normality. People see a woman making dinner. Driving. Answering. Working. They do not see the private terror of listening too closely to your own body and not trusting whether you’re hearing truth or fear. I live with that more than I want to admit.
