I don’t know if I chose this life or adapted to it

Dear Delyara, That question has been following me lately. Did I choose this career? Or did I simply adapt to what was available, practical, acceptable, survivable, and then keep going long enough that adaptation became identity? I am good at what I do. That may be the most confusing part. Skill can hide misalignment for years.
