I don’t know what direction my life is taking anymore
Dear Delyara, Not in a dramatic crisis way. In a slower, more frightening way. I still get up. Still work. Still parent. Still pay things. Still answer people. Still move through the expected shape of adulthood. And yet underneath all of that, there is this growing feeling that I am no longer walking toward anything I can name with confidence. I am simply continuing. That terrifies me more than obvious failure would. Because if something fully broke, at least I would know what the problem was. But this is harder. It is a drifting that still looks competent. A life that still functions on paper while the person living it starts to wonder when they last felt truly directed instead of merely occupied. I miss direction. I miss the feeling of inner movement. I miss waking up and knowing what my effort was feeding. Now too much of life feels like maintenance with no horizon.
