Small JoysQuiet Moments
I Drank My Water Before It Got Warm
Dear Delyara, I know how absurd that sounds. But I filled the glass, put ice in it, sat down, and finished the whole thing before somebody called me, interrupted me, asked me something, or handed me one more tiny emotional duty to carry. The water stayed cold the whole time. I almost laughed at how meaningful that felt. Because it shouldn’t. And yet when life gets fragmented enough, one complete act of self-care — even one as plain as drinking cold water all the way to the bottom — starts to feel like proof you still exist in your own day. That was what I felt. Proof.
