The BondFamily
I feel central to everyone’s daily function and strangely outside the family’s emotional warmth by evening
Dear Delyara, I matter in all the practical places. Meals, school, timing, moods, forms, finding, remembering, softening, preparing, absorbing. The house would reveal my absence very quickly if I stopped doing what I do. I know that. And still, there are evenings where I feel oddly outside the warmth of the same home I help hold together. Useful, yes. Needed, constantly. But held? Met? Gathered in? Not in proportion to how much of me has been spent there. That is a painful split. To be essential and lonely in the same structure. To be the system and still feel emotionally unaccompanied by night. I think more women live there than anyone says.
