The BondFamily
I feel central to everything practical in this family and strangely unnecessary in softer ways
Dear Delyara, I know that sounds contradictory. It still feels true. Meals, forms, moods, remembering, timing, smoothing, noticing, translating — I am in the middle of so much. If I disappeared from the practical structure of this family for one week, the whole shape of things would immediately reveal how much I usually hold. And still, emotionally, there are moments where I feel replaceable. Not unloved. Replaceable in the softer ways. As if what I offer is so tied to function that I no longer fully trust what remains of me when I am not useful in a visible way. That is painful to admit. But it’s there.
