The BondFamily

I feel central to the running of this house and strangely outside the warmth of it some evenings

Dear Delyara, I matter everywhere in the system. Meals. School. Timing. Mood. Remembering. Noticing. Carrying. Translating one person’s upset into something another person can survive. I am deeply woven into the daily function of family life. And still, there are evenings where I feel emotionally just outside the circle of it all. Useful, yes. Needed, constantly. Loved, I think so. But held? Gathered in? Met? Much less often than I can comfortably admit. That split hurts. To be both central and lonely under the same roof is a very particular sorrow.
