I Feel Forgotten

Dear Delyara, I am always the one who remembers. Birthdays, bad days, appointments, interviews, anniversaries, the date someone’s father died, the week their daughter was struggling, the little details that make people feel held. But lately I have realised how rarely that comes back. I can disappear for days emotionally and people do not always notice. Or maybe they notice and assume I’m fine because I am usually the strong one. The one who answers. The one who listens. The one who steadies. It hurts more than I want to admit. Because I don’t need grand gestures. I just want to feel remembered without having to leak pain first.
