The WeightGuilt
I feel guilty every time I need the world to be gentler than it is
Dear Delyara, A softer tone. Less noise. More room. Fewer questions. Less pressure. One evening without carrying everyone properly. A morning that does not begin in crisis. More time to recover from ordinary life than ordinary life seems willing to offer. Those are not outrageous needs. And still I react to them with guilt. As if needing gentleness means I have become weak. As if other people cope better, absorb more, manage more, and stay warmer doing it. As if my body is somehow failing a test I never agreed to sit. That guilt makes hard weeks so much harder than they need to be. The world is already rough enough. I don’t need my own inner voice treating my tiredness like evidence against me too.
