The WeightGuilt
I feel guilty for being difficult to reach when I’m low
Dear Delyara, Even when I am genuinely overwhelmed, part of me still believes I should be more available than I am. That is the guilt. Not guilt from wrongdoing. Guilt from slowing down. From not replying quickly enough. From becoming harder to access when my emotional capacity is low. From needing less contact while still wanting to be loved. I know boundaries and retreat are ordinary human things. But some older part of me still experiences them as a moral failure. I am tired of that pattern. Knowing it does not yet undo it.
