The WeightGuilt
I feel guilty for needing things
Dear Delyara, This is one of the ugliest patterns in me, and I don’t know exactly where it began. I feel guilty for needing things. Time. Space. Rest. Clarification. Help. Tenderness. Money. Patience. Even honesty, sometimes. It is as if some part of me believes that goodness means being as undemanding as possible, and every human need I have is a small moral inconvenience to the people around me. I know that sounds extreme. It also feels true. And I’m tired of carrying guilt into places where simple self-respect should live.
