The BondFamily
I feel like history walks into the room before I do
Dear Delyara, That is what family still feels like sometimes. Not just current people in a current room. History arriving first. Old roles. Old assumptions. Old hurts. Old expectations of how I will respond, what I will hide, what I will soften, what I will overlook. Even on decent days, history sits under the conversation and changes the emotional cost of everything. I think that’s why I often leave family spaces more tired than the visible events justify. I’m not only handling the present. I’m carrying the archive too.
