I felt lonelier after replying

Dear Delyara, I answered someone tonight and immediately felt a little more alone. Nothing was wrong with the exchange. That’s what makes it hard to explain. I think I had hoped the message might land deeper than it was built to. When it didn’t, I felt the gap between contact and connection more sharply than if I’d remained silent. That gap still hurts me more than I admit.
