I felt lonelier after replying

Dear Delyara, I answered messages tonight and somehow felt more lonely afterward. Not because the people were unkind. Because the exchange reminded me how much contact can happen without real emotional meeting. I responded, they responded, everything was normal enough, and yet there was still this ache under it all that said: this is not the layer I needed. It’s difficult to explain loneliness when you are in touch with people. But I think that is the more common kind now. Connected enough. Reached nowhere essential.
