My Diary
I felt lonelier after talking
Dear Delyara, I had a long conversation tonight and felt more alone afterward. Not because the person was unkind. Because I realized halfway through that I was not being fully met, only socially mirrored. We were talking, but I was not arriving. I was giving acceptable answers, staying in the manageable version of myself, keeping everything polished enough that the conversation could continue smoothly. When it ended, I felt that familiar emptiness — the one that comes not from lack of company, but from lack of accurate contact. I think some of the loneliest moments happen right after connection that never really reached the center.
