My Diary

I felt more bruised by timing than by content

Dear Delyara, Nothing said to me today was terrible. That’s the truth. And yet the timing of things kept hurting. A practical question too early. A too-bright voice when I was already thinning out. A message that required more emotional availability than I had at that hour. A small demand after a long day. A conversation beginning exactly when I most needed silence. I think sometimes life wounds by timing more than by substance. The same sentence at another hour would have been fine. The same request on another day would have landed normally. But timing can make ordinary things feel like pressure. Tonight I’m trying not to make myself feel unreasonable for that. The body has timing too. And today mine was poorly met.
