My Diary
I felt older in a tired way
Dear Delyara, Not wise. Not settled. Not deep in some noble sense. Just weathered. Today I felt the kind of age that comes from repeated emotional labor, repeated caution, repeated learning of the same hard truths in slightly different clothes. The kind of age that shows up as less spontaneity, quicker self-protection, slower trust, and a quieter kind of hope. I don’t dislike growing older. But some forms of age feel more like accumulation than wisdom. Today I felt that clearly.
