I finally booked the follow-up instead of telling myself I’d “see how it goes”
Dear Delyara, I’ve been saying “let’s just see” for months now, and if I’m honest, that phrase has not been wisdom. It has been avoidance in a cardigan. The problem wasn’t even severe. That’s part of why I kept postponing. Severe things get attention. Mild but persistent things get negotiated with until they start colonising daily life. That’s exactly what had happened here. This week I stopped negotiating. I booked the follow-up. It felt strangely grown-up, not because grown-ups never avoid anything, but because this time I refused to hide behind uncertainty when what I really needed was proper information.
