My Diary
I forgot to take the meat out and hated myself too quickly
Dear Delyara, By five-thirty it was still in the freezer and I could feel the day turning against me in an entirely avoidable domestic way. We ate something else. Nobody suffered. And still I spent an hour feeling like I had failed at something much bigger than dinner. That’s what scares me about how tired I’ve become. The speed with which small mistakes become moral events inside me. I don’t think the problem is the freezer. I think the problem is how little room I have left around ordinary human error.
