My Diary

I forgot what day it was and felt cheated

Dear Delyara, I thought it was Thursday. It was only Wednesday. The disappointment I felt was completely disproportionate and absolutely real. I had already emotionally leaned toward the weekend. Some part of me had already reached for the idea of relief and then had it taken away by a calendar. I stood there in the kitchen with that stupid private heartbreak only tired adults understand. Not because Wednesday is tragic. Because I had needed time to move faster than it was moving. That moment told me more about my exhaustion than anything else did yesterday. I am not only tired. I am leaning toward rescue.
