My Diary

I Found a Drawing Folded in My Coat Pocket

Dear Delyara, I almost threw it away with the receipt. A small crumpled paper with bright colours and a lopsided heart, folded into four, warm from sitting against my body all day without me knowing. My child must have slipped it into my pocket before I left the house. That tiny drawing did something to me. Because in the middle of stress, work, timing, bills, and all the seriousness of grown-up life, there it was — one soft childish act of love riding quietly beside me through the whole day. I stood in the hallway holding it and felt tears rise for reasons bigger than paper. Sometimes what saves a woman emotionally is not wisdom. It is evidence that someone small still reaches for her with love in ordinary secret ways.
