My Diary
I found a folded note in my coat pocket and nearly cried in the supermarket
Dear Delyara, It was from my daughter. Just “Love you Mum” with a tiny heart that looked rushed, like she had done it while standing by the door and then forgotten to tell me. I found it while looking for my card at the checkout, right there between the eggs and the detergent and a woman behind me unloading her trolley like my life wasn’t about to split open over three words in blue pen. I didn’t cry. I wanted to. Sometimes one small proof that you are loved arrives exactly where the day has worn you thinnest. That note found me there.
