My Diary
I Found a Hair on My Jumper and Thought of My Mother
Dear Delyara, It was a long dark hair, caught in the wool near my shoulder, and for some reason it made me think about her immediately. Not even about a big memory. Just the ordinary feeling of women carrying traces of each other through life. Hair, tone, habits, worry, recipes, criticism, care, exhaustion. Whole inheritances living quietly in tiny domestic details. I pulled the hair away and stood there for a second too long with the thought. How much of womanhood is handed down without ceremony. How much of it is love. How much of it is burden. How often it is both. I folded the jumper and said nothing. It was one of those moments too thin to explain and too real to ignore.
