My Diary
I found myself hiding in the utility room for two quiet minutes
Dear Delyara, Not from danger. From contact. The washing machine was on, the tumble dryer was humming, and it was the only room in the house where the noise was simple and honest. No emotional subtext, no questions, no timing, no conversation I needed to steer correctly. Just machines doing what they do. I stood there with one hand on the counter pretending to look for something and let the ordinary mechanical noise shield me for a moment. It says a lot about the week that the utility room felt like sanctuary.
